Eat Pray Love is a travelogue of one woman's search for everything across Italy, India and Indonesia. Let's quickly talk about Gilbert for a second "Eat, Pray, Love" is built on the notion of a woman trying to heal herself from a severe emotional and spiritual crisis. It is a story of how one woman left everything after divorce and unhappiness in her career to begin a journey of self-discovery looking for three different aspects of her nature. It is an emotional roller coaster set against the backdrop of three different cultures. It depicts pleasure in Italy, devotion in India, and on the Indonesian island of Bali, a balance between worldly enjoyment and divine transcendence.
I read this book literally almost three years ago during a very confusing time of my life personally and professionally. Eat Pray Love helped me navigate through a journey full of emotions. It was the book that was the life-changing catalyst to find myself and "my way". Now years later, unknowingly, I have experienced my own EAT. PRAY.LOVE journey walking away fully aware of who I am as a woman, spiritually mature, and now engaged, oh and always eating and cooking.
