There is nothing more gratifying that getting dressed after a long work week to enjoy a night out in the city. Last Friday, I made myself a little number, did a quick face and went out for a night at the Brooks Museum for Memphis Wine + Food Series event Brooks Uncorked.
As sooned as the guests entered the museum we were greeted with a glass of champagne. Hey perfect way to get the party started. Brooks Uncorked featured tastes from 14 of Memphis' favorite restaurants, wines from the Bespoke Collection in addition to other fine wine & beer selections from Buster's, cosmos and martinis from Pyramid Vodka, a silent auction, complimentary valet and more centennial celebratory surprises!
My first stop after hoping off the elevator was to LaFayette Room's table and I may have stayed there almost 15 minutes going back for fifths. The crabmeat ceviche spread over a creamy avocado yogurt was fresh and clean and filling. But the pickled mustard devil eggs had me at Hello! I mean literally I kept telling the executive chef Hello?! as if I needed to keep reintroducing myself to get special deebs on more servings. They were so good.
Making my next round of sampling Spanish wines, martinis and champagne, I enjoyed a fresh cut of savory lamb from Erling Jensen. Of course, I just had to indulge in pastries from Chez Phillippe, It was mandatory they said. I just followed the rules.
I am always a style gazer when attending events. There was so much personal style in the room. I mean everyone was super chic yet minimal and that is always a joy to see.
