Style in the City...why of course...we have style in our city. Memphis Fashion Week is THE week in which we have a platform to show all the amazing array of talent in our growing fashion industry. Last night, I felt like a busy designer in a bustling metropolitan city lol. I hastily left my design studio and ran home to get dressed to attend the opening night party for Memphis Fashion Week at Josephs. We partied for a cause, all benefiting the Memphis Fashion Fund and the Emerging Designers Project.
I had such an amazing time I have to issue a disclaimer.. I talked so much, laughed so much, indulged in so many great pieces and cocktails, I didn't get an overload of images. The opening night party attendees were some of Memphis's stylish socialites, industry professionals, and loyal Joseph clientele. An opportunity to swoon over impeccable personal style and fashion and be apart of a great movement to grow and support the fashion industry in Memphis.
Honey chile when I laid my eyes on this woman. My heart skipped a beat or two. I was captivated by her regal style and dopeness all in one lol. Sophia is her name and she's here from New York. During my daydreaming I mean conversation with her I found out she is just as excited as I am about the growing industry and cultivation of creativity and talent brewing in Memphis.
Josephs is one of the premier high end retailers to shop in the city, carrying brands like Marc Jacobs, Alexander Wang, Jimmy Choo and the list goes on and on. The shopping party
There is no telling who you will run into while in Josephs. My giggling session began when I ran into my inspirations and friends Augusta Rivera Campbell and Star Hawks both fashion stylists.
I was so excited to run into my friend and designer Maggie who will be showing during the EMDP. I adored her tulle belt. Her look is something I would wear.
I pulled one of my looks from my upcoming bridal collection Concrete Rose. I felt the look was more than bridal and would be party appropriate too. I loved it! I received many many compliments all night which makes me feel so happy.
I ended my night on Cloud 10 with the help of Mrs. Shirley (owner of Josephs) and her son in law Kenneth with compliments on how much they loved my look. I have adored Mrs. Shirley since the first moment I met her while working with Dress for Success as a stylist. She has the sweetest spirit, impeccable style, and love for growing the fashion industry in Memphis.
