WTH DID I GET DONE TODAY
I had to get it together and learn to manage my day to day and simply master the art of "Get Shit Done". We all know sharing is caring. Therefore, I am obliged to share my method. Here is my "Get Shit Done" strategy!
It's a melodic blend of a To Do List & The
. Developed by Italian entrepreneur, Franceso Cirillo, named Pomodoro ( means tomato in Italian) after the tomato shaped timer he used to track his work as a student.
It's simple... When you have large tasks to accomplish like sewing nine bridesmaids dresses break the task down into short timed intervals spaced out by short breaks. The technique helps train your brain to focus for short periods and also improves your attention span and concentration.
The Pomodoro Technique is perfect because working in short sprints helps to make sure you are productive and keeps you motivated and not overwhelmed.
So.... Here's how you do it.Before you start the Pomodoro Technique, take a few minutes and write down your tasks for the day. Divide them into smaller tasks that can be scratched off in 25 minutes or less.
1. Choose ONE task to work on.
2. Set the timer to 25 minutes. You don't have to have the tomato timer, a regular little kitchen timer works too.
3. Work on the task until the timer rings then put a X on your sheet.
4. Take a break ( 5 minutes is cool!) Go drink some water, check FB/IG (may need to set a timer for that) or scratch off a non related task off your list.
5. Every "4 Pomodoros" you can take a longer break say 15-30 minutes. Hey...you've earned it.
Work this way throughout your workday and see how much you "Get Shit Done".
