One of the main reasons I wanted to sew were because of my pretty little angel Amira. As I anticipated having a little girl 7 years ago, the one thing that was almost always on my mind was dressing her like a little princess every day. Literally, I thought she would play in tulle and ruffles on the playground without a care in the world. My dream has come true...almost. Amira doesn't really like dressing in ruffles but for special occasions like our cousins wedding she was adorned in tulle and sequin.
I share the process of making Amira's flower girl dress on social media last week. As I shared, Amira is very very hands on with her design process and dishing out orders and wanting to "check in" on the process of her dress.
She wanted to make sure I made her dress with exactly 8 layers of tulle, 4 of them with the "sparkley tulle" and 4 of regular so she could "twirl really really good".
Because I'm a mommy and a stylist, I had to make sure her bows stay exactly where I placed them and everything was in tact because she would have to be a big girl and walk and throw flower petals all by herself. Of course, there had to be a pouting and fussing moment because she couldn't play when she wanted to.
Mommy's little princess did so well and I really enjoyed making her dress as I do with them all.. It makes me so happy to hear her proudly say "My mommy made my dress".
