Amira's Birthday Dress + New Look 6335

I'm not sure if you all know why I started sewing or not but I'll share with you now. I hated the maternity options while I was pregnant and the price as well. It was awful. I mean very mu-mu "ish". I also wanted to make pretty fru fru princess-ish dresses for Amira. Well, I'm doing both now minus the maternity (don't wanna go through that again). It gives me joy to make unique dresses for Amira like her birthday dress. Here's the pattern I used and a quick pattern review....

I knew the moment I saw this pattern Amira would love the dress. I chose New Look's 6335 for a couple of reasons. The silhouette of the dress and simplicity, the fabric choice, and the adorable peter pan collar.

I sourced denim, sequin, and a floral denim for the skirt to make Amira's dress a little different from the pictured look.

Pattern: New Look

Fabric Used:  Stretch Denim for bodice, Two Way Stretch Sequin, Floral Denim

Pattern Sizing: I cut the 4T because Amira is a little small.

Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope when you were done? It did of course with my changes in fabric.

Were the instructions easy to follow? This is a fast and easy dress to make, it comes together nicely and with the changes I made to the fabric for the collar

What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I love the gathers in the skirt and the peter pan collar. The dress is super cute.

Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: After I Amira tried the dress on I realized the collar wasn't laying as flat as I would like. Therefore, I suggest tacking the collar down by hand sewing. Other than that it was perfect.

Would you sew it again? Yes! I will be making many more pieces and changing the colors and fabrics.

Would you recommend it to others? Of course!

It's safe to say that she loved it because she has worn it three times since her birthday lol.
