DIY Style Journal

My heart gets fussy over thoughts of nostalgia. The memories of the good ole days when we cherished moments and experiences. When you had journals and pictures to remind you of feelings, places and people. You then begin to remember what you ate, how the room smelled and even what you wore. Everything about this DIY Style Journal project reminds of you nostalgia and capturing those memories.

Yesterday, I stopped by Art Center of Memphis to pickup some materials for Amira's Valentines Day project. However, I use those trips to the art store as a field trip for mommy as well.  I love walking down the aisles learning about new materials and ways to use them. While talking with Kamesha, I asked hmmmmm what do people use this paper for. My good ole friend that works there interceded and said "Oh we have an entire list of possible uses." One of which was something I was so giddy about ...BOOK COVERS. So here we go LOL.

I just knew this vintage sewing pattern paper was made JUST for me to make a style journal, all of the universe conspired with me.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED :

Let's Begin...

Place your journal on the center of your paper and mark the size of the journal and then add 1 inch  to the length on both the top and bottom.

Now cut your your piece of paper. It's best to work in two sections so the front half of the book and the back half leaving an opening for the spine of the book.

Add glue to the back of your paper

Wrap around the edge of your journal and begin gluing your book to paper. Use a ruler to smooth out the bumps. Remember that from grade school ?

Lastly, I left the opening of the spine to lay a single strap on the spine. Next, cut out a piece of paper the length of the spine and glue it down.

Andddd.... Now you have the perfect place to record all of your style moments.

You all remember printing photos to Walgreens? I do and I still do! Your style journal can't be digital lol it's tangible. You actually can hold prints in your hand and paste them to the pages of your lovely journal. The very last thing is using your Walgreens App to send your pictures to print.
