I always reference the idea of "dreaming with my eyes open" because I believe that is what life is about. It's living your dreams. It's about keeping your dreams right in the center...visible, where you see it every day. One way I do this is to keep the things I aspire to be and have, in my direct eye sight metaphorically and literally.
New York has always been a dream of mine and living the life of fashion in New York in particular. I went back through some old blog posts recently and came across my Concrete Jungle series. That time when I literally was dreaming with my eyes WIDE open and walked into the doors of Bergdorf Goodman. Bear with me and these photos (pre iPhone) because I'll go from past to present to future in this post.
BLOG POST DECEMBER 2010
Yesterday, I finally sat down and watched some much needed fashion documentaries as I worked and sought some inspiration. It's about time I watched Scatter My Ashes at Bergdorf. I could feel the magic and the excitement behind the screen just as I felt almost 5 years ago as I FINALLY was able to walk past the magical windows of Bergdorf Goodman on 5th Avenue. I felt my heart beat yesterday as it skipped December 2010. I remember the lights, the magic, and the gorgeous New Yorkers.
Scatter My Ashes At Bergdorf is a MUST SEE for any fashion girl lol. It's a glimpse at the history of Bergdorf Goodman, designers, the amazing windows, and the magic that happens in the infamous luxury department store that has become the symbol of New York Fashion.

Watching the documentary was a reminder for me to continue to work, grow in my passion, and BELIEVE. That's what Bergdorf Goodman is to so many designers and people. It's dreams coming to life.
Every designer dreams of the day to have their collection in Bergdorf Goodman. It's the quintessential "I've made it" moment in your designer journey. As I watched the film, I was hella inspired by the stories, many simple, of how designers were discovered and their collections were bought by Bergdorf Goodman.
Just as I thought, I would never feel the excitement to see the doorman at Bergdorf or walk on the 3rd floor of Bergdorf. One cold winter day in December there I was eyeing the Balmain display in Bergdorf. One day, not sure what season but I will go check on my display at Bergdorf Goodman.
